Take off your slippers as I repeat the mantra Oṁ Gurave Namaḥ with me 12 times.
Welcome back to the Parāśara Jyotiṣa Conference of America. We are continuing with Agni, which is the first Tattva of the Pañcāṅga, and Vāra, which is connected, the Jyotiṣa connection to the Tattva. Today we are going to examine the patrilineage of Agni, how father and the child are linked. And separation or loss of father and Agni Doṣas and some things like that also we will check from here. Then we will go into Vāreśa warnings where basically the Vāreśa is giving certain warnings when it is placed in certain houses because this is fire, this is Agni, okay? And when it is placed in a certain house, it sucks the oxygen from the opposite sign. And that is what we are going to look into. And the death of children and some terrible losses and other things we will go into. Finally, we study Māraka, which is the sunset. Just a sunrise is the birth of a new day, a new life. The sunrise is connected to our birth to our lagna and the sunset, which is opposite to sunrise. Sunset is in the seventh house from sunrise and that is connected to death. That is why the seventh house becomes a Māraka. And what is this Māraka? How are we going to find out Mārakas in a chart? We are going to study Māraka in Jyotiṣa. There will be some things you will learn today, which is going to be pretty surprising for many of you, because these are things which have not been discussed previously. And then there are some notes, how to choose mantra from the Vāreśa. But Agni pacification, I don’t know whether we will have time to do that, but we will do as much as we can. So please bear with me, let us start.
The first chapter today is that the Vedic weekday in which a person is born is the Antardaśā of the father. That is the dictum from the Paramparā. That is the tradition. And from the tradition we learn that the Vedic weekday in which a person is born is the Antardaśā of the father. Now to know the Antardaśā of the father, we have to use the correct udu daśā. The correct udu daśā is very important to see the link between father and the son. Okay, and normally, normally we can easily see this in any chart. Once we have the correct udu daśā. Udu daśā are like Viṁśottarī daśā, ashtottari daśā, then you have so many other daśā, there are as many as nine or ten udu daśā known presently to the students of Parāśara, about nine or 10 of them, they use them and people generally use about four or five, maybe and I will show you as many as I can and I will show you that with the correct Ududaśā, you know that the day on which the child will be born. This happens, this happens, let me give you a warning in the beginning. This happens is as many as 99% of the cases. There’s 1% of the case where it will not happen, where the weekday will not match the Antardaśā of the father. But that is because the Antardaśā planet itself may be in something like what we call the maraṇa kāraka sthāna. For example, if somebody is running a Venus which is in maraṇa kāraka sthāna, then possibly the child may not be born on a Friday. But definitely in the horoscope of the child, the maraṇa kāraka Venus will show some result. Like the child could be born in a tithi of Venus, like Kṛṣṇa Caturdaśī Doṣa and things like that. So, but that is only 1% of the cases. Those rare cases, we leave aside. We are going to only study the patrilineage. Now, the patrilineage is very clear. Unlike this, the Y DNA is the father’s lineage and is in blue boxes, and the DNA that is coming from the mother’s lineage is in the pink boxes, right? So according to the medicine, according to medicine, you can see the blue is going like this to the father, right over here, you can see to the father. And then from there it is going to the son. It is not going to the daughter, you see? But that is not what the Jyotiṣa tells us.
Jyotiṣa says that Agni is not partial. Agni is not partial to male or female. Agni goes to both, the son and the daughter. So any child, the father connection is to the Antardaśā. The Antardaśā is the father connection. So whatever Antardaśā the father is running will connect to the day on which the child will be born. That is very, very clear. So Jyotiṣa is not distinguishing between son and daughter. So whatever medicine has taught us till now, this is the level of medicine today. Okay, at the present state of understanding of medicine, some X and Y and chromosome and this and that, whatever it is, it says that is only going from father to son. But the agni actually goes equally to son and to daughter. Both get the fire from the father through the Vedic weekday. So, whether it is a son or a daughter, it does not matter. Both are going to get Agni from the father. Okay, let us see how this works.

Let us see the charts of Jawahar Lal Nehru and his daughter Indira Gandhi. So on the left side I have the chart of Nehru and on the right side I have the child or the daughter Indira Gandhi. So the first thing I want to show you was how it works through daughter also. Okay, and Nehru was under Venus daśā, moon Antardaśā. See Indira Gandhi is born on 19 November 1917. Okay. She was born on 19 November 1917 and that Nehru on that day was in Venus Daśā, moon Antar Daśā. Now I’m only talking about this Antar Daśā, not about the Daśā; the Antar Daśā. Now this moon Antar Daśā will indicate that if a child is to be born at this time to Nehru, the child can only be born on a Monday. and Indira Gandhi was born on 19th of November 1917 on a Monday. Do you see the connection? The Antardaśā of the father is directly connected to the day on which Indira Gandhi is born, which confirms that the Vāreśa, the Vāreśa, the Agni is in the Antardaśā. Agni is not in the daśā. Agni is not in the daśā. Agni is in the Antardaśā. Okay? The second important connection we see father and daughter. See it has worked perfectly.

The next is my father, Umakant Rath. He was in Rāhu daśā, Mercury Antardaśā when my elder brother Sukant was born. He was born in 62. So, 61, August to 64, March is Rāhu daśā, Mercury Antardaśā. Viṁśottarī daśā is applicable in the chart because he is born in Śukla Pakṣa in the daytime and the moon is in the ninth house. So normal Viṁśottarī daśā will work in this chart. And he was in Rāhu daśā, Mercury Antardaśā and the first son Sukant was born on a Wednesday. You see 28th March 62 was a Wednesday. It was after sunrise that this child was born. So, you can clearly see the connection between the father and the child. You see this knowledge was used by ancient astrologers to see the lineage, to confirm lineage, to check strength of lineage, to check the strength of Agni. So, we can see that Mercury is the fifth Lord over here and you can see that in Rāhu daśā Mercury Antar daśā this child is born.

Okay. Let us see the next, which, is my birth. I am the second son of my father, Umakant Rath. 61 to 64 was the same mercury Antardaśā. So, if another child is to be born Sanjay 7th of August 1963, he can only be born on a Wednesday. Second son Sanjay was also born on a Wednesday. I was born on a Wednesday. And mercury was in Leo at that point of time. So, you can see that there’s a difference between the two, you can see that. In the previous case, the Antardaśā planet, the Antardaśā planet, that is the Rāhu daśā, mercury Antardaśā. So, the important connecting planet out here is mercury, you can see that. And you have to see in transit, where is mercury placed in transit? Mercury is in Aquarius. So, this Rāśi, Aquarius is very powerful. Agni is in Aquarius. Where is Aquarius for him for his chart? In his chart, Aquarius is in the 10th house. It’s in swarga. So, you can see that entire energy of Aquarius is coming in the elder son. Okay, that’s his 10th house. So, he’s feeling elated. He has got a son, but he’s very worried. You can see the Lord of this sign. Look at the Lord of this sign in his horoscope, in the horoscope of the father. You can see the…., because in transit, Mercury is here. So what did I do? I saw Rāhu Daśā, Mercury Antar Daśā. Then I took Mercury. The child will be born on a Wednesday. Yes, he was born on a Wednesday. Where was Mercury transiting? Mercury is transiting Aquarius. How are the Lords of Aquarius in this horoscope? Saturn is extremely strongly placed as Ātmākāraka planet. It is the Ātmākāraka, it’s not showing here. So, he is a king. Therefore, this eldest son will behave like a king, like Saturn Ātmākāraka. And the other Lord, which is Rāhu, is in maraṇa kāraka sthāna in the ninth house. So, there could be danger to the life of this child and correctly if you look at this horoscope the moon is in Gaṇḍānta you can see the day lord is Mercury, the tithi is Saptami, the nakshatra is Jyeṣṭha, is born at the fag end of Jyeṣṭha with moon Ātmākāraka. So you can see that is danger to his life he was premature born he was born in the seventh month and he was like a little mouse and it took him a few months about two months to cross over two three months in six months time. He was strong enough to be normal. So, you can see that what did we do out here? We simply took the Antar daśā planet and we saw in Gocara, where that planet is. Where that planet is, it is an Aquarius. Then we saw how are the Lords of Aquarius placed. The Lords of Aquarius Saturn and Rāhu are placed in the ninth house in Bādhaka Rāśi. I can also say that maybe this child will go abroad, which was a prediction made by my grandfather when my elder brother was born. When my elder brother was born, my grandfather had just made the horoscope. He knew my father’s horoscope and he predicted that this boy will go abroad and he will drive beautiful cars. He will not live in this country. So well, everybody at that point of time was very worried about whether my brother will survive. Grandfather was very sure because of saturn Ātmākāraka. You can see that. Because Ātmākāraka is the strength of Śiva. That is how we see which planet is rising strongly. So, for my elder brother, the connect with my father will be Saturn and Rāhu connect because it is an Aquarius. Whereas this is my chart. You can see that I was born also on a Wednesday, same Rāhu daśā, Mercury Antardaśā. But you see Mercury was transiting Leo at that point of time. So, you don’t look at Leo in my chart. That is mine. That is about me. That’s not important. So, what is the connect with the father? Father; you just put that Leo, go to Leo, look at Leo. Leo, the only planet in the Kendra is Mars. So, this Son will have this energy of Mars, this energy of the Sun. Does the Sun have Nīcabhaṅga? The Sun has Nīcabhaṅga because Mars is in a Kendra from Lagna. Because of Mars being in a Kendra from Lagna, the Sun is getting Nīcabhaṅga. So definitely with the birth of the second Son, this Surya is getting Nīcabhaṅga Rajyoga. Surya getting Nīcabhaṅga Rajyoga, that was the year 1963-64 was the year when my father got the president of India’s gold medal for his brilliant engineering. It is very interesting, you know, that’s how the Nīcabhaṅga gets activated and it becomes permanent after that because the child is born with this particular Vāreśa. So, do you realize what the Vāreśa did? The Vāreśa in this case was Mercury because the Antardaśā was Mercury. Mercury Antardaśā, Vāreśa was Mercury, Wednesday birth. And Mercury is in Leo. Because it is in Leo, the Sun is activated. It is in the fourth house. So therefore, it is in Sukha sthāna. And Leo, you can say Jyotiṣa, the tradition and all that stuff, it comes from here.

Now this is my younger brother, Sumanta. My father was under Rāhu Daśā, Ketu Antar Daśā after that between 64 and 65. And my younger brother was born. So Rāhu Daśā, Ketu Antar Daśā. Now when we talk about Ketu, basically the dictum we have to bear in mind, Ketu does not have a day of his own. Rāhu also does not have a day of his own. But the dictum, Kujavāda, Ketu, Śanivāda, Rāhu. That dictum comes into play. So ketu is like Mars and Rāhu is like Saturn. So ketu is agni tattva. What do we do is basically we are normally looking for birth either on a Tuesday or on a Sunday. See the ketu gives the option. Ketu can either go towards the sun or ketu can go towards Mars. It has an option to choose one of the two agni planets. Because he doesn’t have a body of his own. So normally people assume that Ketu is going towards Mars and that is why they say Kujavad Ketu. But in reality, you will see it is not so. In reality, Ketu is an Agni Tattva planet and it can choose to go with the sun or it can choose to go with Mars. Whereas Rāhu does not have such an option because Rāhu is Vāyu Tattva. And the only other vāyu tattva planet is Saturn. So Rāhu doesn’t have a choice. He just has to go with Saturn. Now naturally since he is under Rāhu Daśā, Ketu Antar Daśā, we are expecting the third son to be born on a Tuesday. So Sumanta was born on 16th of February 1965 which was a Tuesday. Perfect. But it could go with the sun. So, we have to look at the transit of Ketu. Where is Ketu transiting? You look carefully. Ketu is transiting in Scorpio, which is a house of Mars. So as far as the Vāreśa is concerned because he’s born on a Tuesday, you are actually going to look at Mars, is it not? All of you will be looking at Mangal because he’s born on a Tuesday. But you see in this particular case, we should be looking at Ketu and not on Mars. This is an advanced point that if somebody is born on a Tuesday or on a Sunday, also check, maybe Ketu could be the Vāreśa. Vāreśa can be Ketu if you are born on a Tuesday or on a Sunday. In this case, Sumanta is born on a Tuesday, his Vāreśa is Ketu, not Mars. We can take Mars, we cannot ignore Mars because Mars is the body but the energy is coming from Ketu. Keep that in mind because it was Rāhu Daśā, Ketu Antar Daśā. Now similarly we have to look at Scorpio. Scorpio is having Ketu over here. So look at Scorpio. Scorpio is the seventh house…….. or to his mother. Very very attached to the mother. (inaudible for rest of the session; however, further discussion on this topic is continued in the next video; i.e., “Pañcāṅga Vāra 06”)
